What We Do

Government Relations

Our Government Relations Strategy

A Way Home employs a government relations strategy at the national, regional and local levels.

We support all levels of government to recognize the role they have in shifting the response to youth homelessness through policy frameworks and the necessary funding to support strategies. We also support the inclusion of youth-focused, rights-based strategies within federal, territorial and provincial plans to end youth homelessness.

Recognizing that Indigenous children and youth are over-represented in all Canadian homeless populations, we also engage with and support Indigenous communities and governments to develop solutions that are inclusive of their unique history and culture, including experiences with colonization and racism.
