Kingston Youth Action Plan
Engaging Youth to Build a Community action plan
This video features youth who helped make the Youth Out Loud community action plan, and was produced by UW of KFLA.
United Way of KFLA has developed a Community Action Plan, in close collaboration with youth and a steering committee. This is part of a national pilot project, Mobilizing Local Capacity to End Youth Homelessness in Canada.
The Action Plan includes strategies with clear goals, objectives, implementation steps and timelines. In developing this plan, the voice of youth was critical in developing the framework and continues to be front and centre in the implementation of the plan. Two community forums were held – one of them organized and attended by youth, and another for service providers, stakeholders and the general public. Additionally, focused conversations with youth helped inform the Action Plan.
